Finalized Opening Plan

Dear Residents, Families and Responsible Parties,

We are pleased to announce that we have finalized the facility’s reopening plan. The details of the plan are summarized in the paragraphs below; however, the entire plan is available for viewing below and on our Facebook page.

The most important question on everyone’s mind is when will visitation be permitted? Our plan, which was developed per the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Guide to Reopening, will allow face to face visitation beginning Monday, August 24, 2020. The Activities Department will be managing the schedule of visits, as they have already been scheduling the virtual visits. You may reach them by calling 724-537-5500.

Designated visiting hours will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm and from 9:00 am to 11:30 am on Saturdays. To try to meet all requests and allow time for proper pre-screening of visitors and disinfecting of surfaces, we will be limiting visits to no more than twenty (20) minutes in length and one visit per week. Additional visits may be granted, as the schedule permits. Please note that visitors will be limited to four (4) people per visit.

We respectfully ask that you do not visit if you are not feeling well or have traveled out of the area recently. Per established community health guidelines, all visitors must have their faces covered (nose and mouth) prior to entering the building. Visitors will be greeted and screened before being escorted to the visiting area. Visits will take place on the rear patios, as weather permits. In case of inclement weather, visits will be held in the TV Room. Due to our heightened infection prevention protocols, we must insist on social distancing, which means visitors may not come within six (6) feet of any resident at any time. In order to facilitate this requirement, tables of at least six (6) feet in length will be placed between the visitors and the resident during the visits. Face coverings must always remain in place at all times during the visit.

Residents who are unable to leave their rooms, and residents currently residing in a yellow or red designated area, are not able to participate in face to face visits during this step of our reopening process. We will continue to offer virtual visits via Skype or other video services for residents who unable to leave their rooms.

We realize that these conditions are not ideal, and that it may be difficult to have a conversation with your loved one from six (6) feet away with your face covered, but the health and safety of our residents, including your loved one, is our top priority. We will continue to keep you updated as we progress through the directed phases of the reopening process. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We look forward to seeing you soon!
